I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Bacon Roll-Ups

This is a recipe from Grandma Sue. It's always a favorite of ours around the holidays.
1 lb. bacon, cut in thirds
1 (8oz.) can whole water chestnuts
Cut chestnuts in half. Wrap a piece of bacon around the chestnut and fix with a toothpick so it will hold. Put in a foil lined sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until a little crisp. Drain off fat. Add sauce and bake 15 minutes.

Sauce
1 c. ketchup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 t. celery salt
Mix together and pour over bacon.
