I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Chocolate Cake


This cake is irresistibly delicious! This was the cake I made for Bryson's birthday this year.

2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
6 T. cocoa
2 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 c. hot water
1 t. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 c. melted dipping chocolate or icing

Mix first eleven ingredients together for 2 minutes. Add nuts last. Mix and pour into greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Turn out and drizzle with melted dipping chocolate or icing. Sprinkle with cake sprinkles.
