I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Ramen Noodle Cabbage Salad

I'm a little burned out on soups and casseroles. Thank goodness it's getting to be the time of year for salads and sandwiches. If the weather will cooperate. This salad is good for any picnic, luncheon or get-together.

Dressing:
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. red or white wine vinegar
1 t. accent
1/8 c. sugar
1/2 t. pepper
1 t. salt

Mix together well; set aside.

1 (16 oz.) pkg. tri-color coleslaw
1 pkg. ramen noodles (broken up small, cooked, drained and without flavor packets)
1 c. green onions, chopped
1 (6 oz.) pkg. slivered almonds
1 lg. can chicken, drained
1 (7 oz.) pkg. sunflower kernels

Mix together in bowl. Pour dressing on top. Toss to coat.
