I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Broiled Broccoli

Trying to get my kids to eat broccoli just got a whole lot easier. I saw this on GTU. It is the best tasting broccoli ever! So easy and so good. My kids love it. I about passed out when they asked for seconds!
3 or 4 bunches of broccoli, sliced thin
3 T. canola oil {it holds a higher degree of heat than olive oil}
Kosher salt to taste
lemon juice (optional)

Place broccoli on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle oil on top of broccoli and mix well. Sprinkle with kosher salt, ever so lightly, and lemon. Put in the oven and broil for 4 minutes. Take out and mix it up, then put it back in for 3 more minutes. Should be a tiny bit brown.
