I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Ham, Cheese and Asparagus on Garlic Bread

This recipe comes from my sis-in-law Sylvia. She guaranteed it was easy, fast and so good... and well, she didn't disappoint.
1 loaf garlic bread
sliced Provolone or Swiss cheese
thin sliced deli ham
fresh asparagus

Steam asparagus in 4 T. water, 3 T. olive oil, 1 t. garlic salt, and pepper to taste. Steam for 7-10 minutes, no longer.
Place both halves of the garlic bread on cookie sheet. Slice each half into fifths and broil, 1-2 minutes, until toasted brown.
Take out and top each slice with ham, asparagus, and then cheese.
Put back in broiler, 1-2 minutes, until cheese is melted and slightly brown.
