I started this blog...

as a way of compiling all my families favorite recipes all together in one place.
My daughter asked me if I would write down a certain something I make so
she has it when she grows up and has a family. I thought that was a good idea,
so I decided to combine all our favorites and make one big book. It will be a
work in progress and a way for me to ORGANIZE all the recipes stashed in
the cupboard. And I've realized, I like taking pictures of food!

Mom's Sloppy Joes

This recipe comes from my mom. Always a favorite of our family. When Ryan and were first dating, my family went to Horse Valley for July 4th. My mom made these and Ry ate like 8 of them. Quite a compliment to the chef.
2 lbs. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/4 c. flour
1 (6oz.) can tomato sauce
3 T. mustard {I use Southwest Spicy sweet and hot mustard}
1/2 c. ketchup
4 T. brown sugar
2 T. vinegar
1 T. worchestershire sauce
Cook meat until brown. Add onion, Cook until clear. Sprinkle flour over meat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. You can also add 1 can of chili or 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed.
